The keynote speaker for the 2003 California State University Conference on Excellence in Teaching and Learning is Ross La Baugh. Ross, recipient of the 2002-2003 Provost's Award for Excellence in Teaching, has been a librarian and teacher for over 25 years. Prior to coming to Fresno, he was Director of Public Services at the University Library at UMass Dartmouth. In addition to his work as there as an administrator, he taught basic composition, business communication and technical writing. His interests in information competency and advocacy for underserved populations brought him to our campus in 1996, where he intends to stay. Among other awards, Ross' "InfoRadio" series, one minute radio features to teach information literacy skills to college students via campus radio, was awarded the prestigious Innovation in Instruction Award from the Association of College and Research Libraries and Lexis-Nexis last year."

The 4:00 Plenary Panel will be a discussion of faculty careers. New, mid-career, senior, and emeritus faculty members will present their perspectives on their journeys through the academic life.
