On a daily basis, members of the campus community receive inquiries regarding student records related to their attendance, grades, address, behavior, etc. As keepers of these records, we are mandated by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) at the federal level and by the California Information Practices Act (IPA) at the State level, to protect personal information on students. This workshop is intended to provide members of the campus community with basic information on what student information can and cannot be communicated to others.
