by Dr. Kenneth Hansen, Political Science
The Greater Yellowstone Area (GYA) is a remarkable laboratory for the study of politics concerning the conservation of charismatic mega-fauna, otherwise known as the "big critters," including bison, cougars, elk, grizzlies, and wolves. Complete with pictures, Dr. Hansen presents a discursive view of politics in the GYA and how this example can be used in the classroom to advocate student involvement in civic-oriented causes. This study was made possible with the help of Provost Jeri Echeverria and Dean Luz Gonzalez.
