Stoking Your Own Fire: Building Personal Resilience and Professional Vitality

You have taken many courses to better serve your clients or patients. This course is for you!

With research on burnout revealing ineffectiveness, cynicism and exhaustion to be its primary characteristics, and low levels of burnout to be the norm among human service providers, taking steps to counter it is essential. The times of full engagement in our careers are not difficult to manage, but few of us have guidelines for navigating the not-so-easy times of disenchantment and diminished energy.

This experiential course is designed to be an enjoyable day of discovery and self-renewal. It brings together research findings and practices from positive psychology, and integrates those with a useful model called The Cycle of Renewal. You will leave with a clear sense of your place on the Cycle, a renewed sense of purpose, as well as a plan and simple practices for enhancing and maintaining your professional (…and personal!) vitality.
