Advanced Project Management and Project Risk Management
This course will cover more advanced topics of Project Management such as activity cost estimation using PERT techniques, resource definition and allocation, resource leveling and progress monitoring and reporting. Separate parts of the course will be devoted to the concept of Project Risk Management, risk sources, types, measurements, and reporting using specialized software tools such as @RISK for Project.

Architecture License Renewal
Two Sessions Offered
This course teaches the concepts and reference material for accessibility requirements imposed by the American with Disabilities Act of 1990 (Public Law 101-336: 42 U.S.C. Sec 12101 et seq.) and state laws that govern access to public facilities and federal and state regulations adopted pursuant to those laws.
This course has been approved by the Division of Continuing and Global Education at California State University, Fresno for .5 continuing education units. There is a $15 fee for optional Fresno State CEUs.
Written notification of withdrawal must be sent to the Division of Continuing and Global Education prior to first class meeting in order to receive a full refund. After that time, no refund is made.

Forensic DNA Analysis – Online
This course is designed for students currently enrolled in a forensic university program, individuals seeking employment as a forensic DNA analyst in a government or private crime laboratory, and individuals recently hired as forensic DNA analysts. The content for this course was developed according to the Scientific Working Group on DNA Analysis Methods (SWGDAM) Training Guidelines and the DNA Advisory Board (DAB) Quality Assurance Standards. According to these guidelines and standards, all individuals are required to obtain training on the topics covered in this course as part of becoming qualified to perform forensic DNA testing.
This course prepares individuals for the technical responsibilities of a forensic DNA analyst and minimizes the time and resources crime laboratories must spend training new hires. Participants in this course will receive a significant portion of the theoretical and technical training required. To accomplish this goal, participants will learn about biology and genetics as they apply specifically to forensic DNA testing, the historical perspective of forensic DNA testing and the current forensic DNA testing methods and technologies. Additional topics covered include laboratory safety, quality assurance, forensic DNA databases, forensic legislation and court considerations. This course is designed to be completed in 15 hours and is divided into various modules. The fee for this course is $840. Registration begins in July 1, 2009. If you register after August 24, 2009, a $10 late fee will be assessed. Once registration is complete and payment has been received, further instructions will be provided via email at which time you may start the course. Registration for the Fall 2009 semester closes on November 16, 2009. In order to receive academic credit, you must successfully complete the course by December 18, 2009. Fundamentals of Project
Management
The primary goal of this course is to provide participants with a clear insight into the basics, potentials and limitations of Project Management, and help them to make informed decisions about its possible applications. This course will introduce techniques such as time management, scheduling, Work Breakdown Structure development, AOA and AOM formats of activity network, and PERT/CPM methods, as well as organizational issues such as PMP Certification and barriers to implementation of Project Management approach.
Participants will be exposed to an overview of software tools supporting Project Management including Microsoft Project 2007.

Introduction to Voiceovers
Have you ever wanted to be the voice everyone hears on commercials and documentaries? This fun and interactive class covers details of the industry, and the importance of marketing and of a demo tape. You will be coached and recorded for a personal evaluation. Be warned—many who have taken this class have gone on to become real, bona-fide professional Voice Actors! This class is taught by a professional voice actor from the voice acting training company, Voices For All.

Screenwriting – Film and Television
This course is designed for all writers, media students and anyone who is interested in learning professional screenwriting techniques. Each student will have the opportunity to write their own short screenplay using industry methods, practices, and development.
The instructor is an industry filmmaker and screenwriter who has worked at several Hollywood-based studios.
