Introduction to Franchising
Students will examine franchising from both the franchisor and franchisee perspectives. Topics include evaluating franchising opportunities, developing best franchising strategies and practices, successfully planning and launching franchise networks and franchised outlets, and dealing with changes over time. The course is organized around four central themes: 1) what assets does the entrepreneur bring to the franchise, 2) what is the right opportunity to be successful, 3) what financial and organizational resources does the entrepreneur need to acquire and how best to acquire, and 4) how to deal with changing conditions over the life of the business.
