Forensic DNA Analysis – Online
1.5 CEU Hours Available
This course is designed for students currently enrolled in a forensic university program, individuals seeking employment as a forensic DNA analyst in a government or private crime laboratory, and individuals recently hired as forensic DNA analysts. The content for this course was developed according to the Scientific Working Group on DNA Analysis Methods (SWGDAM) Training Guidelines and the DNA Advisory Board (DAB) Quality Assurance Standards. According to these guidelines and standards, all individuals are required to obtain training on the topics covered in this course as part of becoming qualified to perform forensic DNA testing.
This course prepares individuals for the technical responsibilities of a forensic DNA analyst and minimizes the time and resources crime laboratories must spend training new hires. Participants in this course will receive a significant portion of the theoretical and technical training required. To accomplish this goal, participants will learn about biology and genetics as they apply specifically to forensic DNA testing, the historical perspective of forensic DNA testing and the current forensic DNA testing methods and technologies. Additional topics covered include laboratory safety, quality assurance, forensic DNA databases, forensic legislation and court considerations. This course is designed to be completed in 15 hours and is divided into various modules. For a detailed description of each module, please visit http://www.forensic-training-network.com/PUBLIC/Modules.pdf.

Enneagram: A Comprehensive Personality Typology
The Enneagram is the latest and most comprehensive system of personality types. The nine basic types cover every type of human personality. Combinations of these basic types produce further refinements of subtypes. Each personality is a holistic and complete description. Each personality type is described in its healthy, moderate, and unhealthy states, providing clear direction for future growth and development from less healthy to more healthy personalities.
This course will be highly experiential as participants discover for themselves, through a series of lectures and exercises, their personality type. Light bulbs seem to illuminate in your head as you suddenly click with different descriptions of each type. To watch these bulbs light up as people recognize themselves and loved ones in the various types is one of the more enjoyable experiences during the workshop. It is also edifying to see people getting the help they had been seeking to grow or get beyond stuck points that have prevented them from becoming more effective, free, and happy.
In addition to understanding of self, the Enneagram provides clear understanding of other important persons in your life—spouse, child, other loved ones, colleagues at work, clients, employees or employers. Previously exasperating behavior of some of these people suddenly makes sense.

Evolutionary Personality Psychology
Darwinian Theory has been one of the greatest influences on scientific thinking since its inception in the late nineteenth century. From a historical perspective in Psychology, evolutionary theory laid the foundation for the functionalist school of Psychology, which later itself evolved into the behaviorist movement. Starting in the mid 1980s there has been a resurgence of evolutionary thinking in Psychology. Furthermore, new conceptions about evolutionary theory in the other sciences have led to what E.O. Wilson calls "Consilience." This is the idea that all the sciences have a common basis in a series of universal laws, or as Wilson call them "epigenetic rules." This course explores current theorizing on evolutionary theory, especially as it applies to personality psychology. We will explore the grand topics that influence the essence of any living creature. In humans we will discuss life, death, sex, mating, conflict, war, etc. from an evolutionary perspective.
