Are you unable to attend classes on campus due to your work schedule? We offer off-campus degree programs for working professionals and those seeking to advance their careers. Courses are offered at various locations in the evenings and on weekends, with some courses offered online.
Master's Degree in Public Administration (MPA)
The MPA program offers a professional degree to individuals seeking to serve the public through the effective management of public and nonprofit programs. To accomplish this, the program focuses on the following goals: Use knowledge of public administration and/or nonprofit theory, research, and practice to evaluate public policy issues; think critically about issues facing public and nonprofit administrators and policy makers; use both analytical skills and ethical principles to respond to public policy issues; and communicate effectively in oral and written presentation. The program consists of 36 semester credit graduate hours offered in a flexible weekend format. Courses are offered on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings/afternoons. The program takes approximately 2 and one-half years to complete. The program is open to individuals with, or seeking careers in, public and nonprofit organizations. In Spring 2010, a new MPA cohort will be starting in Visalia. For more information, please contact Dr. Kurt Cline, Program Director, at (559) 278-2865 or email Dr. Cline.
