IMPORTANT: ONLY CURRENT FRESNO STATE STUDENTS WILL BE SEEN IN ZOOM MEETINGS. INCOMING FALL 2020 FRESHMAN AND TRANSFER STUDENTS WILL NOT BE SEEN UNTIL AFTER YOUR DOG DAYS ORIENTATION

The Advising and Career Development Center office is located in McLane Hall Room 194. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. (Closed for Lunch and on reserved holidays.)

Advising Expectations and Policy

All admitted undergraduate students are encouraged to visit with an Academic Counselor to develop their degree plans and discuss their path to academic success.

Academic Counselors can provide direction with:

  • Academic Planning
  • Course Selection
  • Major & Degree Requirements
  • Adding/Dropping Classes
  • Graduation Checking
  • Registration
  • Campus Resource Referral

 

Expectations of Students in Preparation for your Advising Appointment

  • Review your Important Information, Holds, and To Do List in your Advising and Career Development Center by logging into MyFresnoState.
  • Review your major degree planning sheet.
  • Review course options, schedules, and prerequisites.
  • Review your online DPR as it is a useful tool to see grades, GPA and coursework.
  • Bring your list of questions and bring any documents that you want to discuss.
  • Be on time for your appointment. If you cannot keep your appointment, call and cancel.

Policy Requirement Regarding Academic Holds

Any student with an "Advising or Transfer Hold” on your student portal is required to make an appointment to meet with their major academic advisor prior to registration appointment.

 *All students must have their Student ID prior to their advising appointment. Students without proper ID will not be able to meet with an Academic Counselor.
