General Education Courses

The CDDS Department currently offers three general education courses. In fall 2006 the following course in the department are only available through our department:

  • Area C2 - CDDS 90 - Deaf American Literature, CDDS 92 American Sign Language II
  • Area D3 - CDDS 98 Introduction to Hard of Hearing and Deaf People
  • UDGE M/I - CDDS 139 American Deaf Culture

Students majoring in CDDS cannot double count the upper division GE course CDDS 139 if it is also required for their major emphasis. Students wishing to transfer to CSU, Fresno are allowed to transfer lower division course equivalents if there is an articulation agreement from their previous college or university. Upper division coursework such as Deaf Culture is not transferable from a community college to CSU, Fresno.
