Admissions Criteria to the undergraduate Athletic Training Education Program

Completion of all prerequite courses with a minimum grade point average of 3.0. Prerequisite courses may be in-progress at the time of application. The minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 is required. Applicants to the program will be invited to campus for an interview.

  • Admission to the athletic training education program is competitive, there is no waiting list.
  • Applicants must re-apply and compete with the entire applicant pool if not selected.
  • First-time freshman applicants are not considered, but may apply to the university as a general kinesiology major, athletic training option.
  • Because the athletic training education program is designated as an impacted program, prospective students must file applications to both Fresno State and the Athletic Training Education Program by March 1st of each year.
  • Applicants are judged based on their academic history, the strength of their application materials, and their interview.
