Undergraduate Program

The Exercise Science Option provides a comprehensive foundation in the biological, physical, and technological sciences which fully prepares students for graduate study and professional careers in fitness, wellness, health promotin, human performance, and preventive and rehabilitative sciences. Flexible and personalized educational and career development strategies are hallmarks of this program. Faculty in the option provide instruction and advising that is based upon extensive practical and professional experience.

Kinesiology Core Program:
Required of all options

1 Kines 20 (1 unit)- Fitness Development
1 Kines 32 (2 units)- Lifetime Fitness & Wellness (requires concurrent enrollment in KAC 6, 21, 24, 31, 33, 39, or 103 - G.E. Breadth E1)
2 Kines 33 (3 units)- Foundations of Sport and Exercise Psychology
2 Kines 104 (3 units)- Info. System and Technology in Kinesiology
3 Kines 116 (3 units)- Foundation of Biomechanics
3 Kines 118 (3 units)- Foundation of Exercise Physiology

In addition, students are required to take 2 units of specific activity (KAC) courses plus 12 units from a specified electives list. Students should see their academic advisor.

Please note that the superscript preceding each course name and number denotes the order in which it is recommended that you schedule your classes. In other words, complete the 1's brfore takeing the 2's, and the 2's before taking the 3's, etc.
