School Nurse Services Credential
GENERAL INFORMATION
The School Nurse Services Credential Program provides basic preparation for professional roles in school nursing. The program, approved by the California Commission on teacher Credentialing, leads to the Professional Clear School Nurse Services Credential. The program of study consists of a minimum of 27 units. Click here for course of study information. The program is divided into Phase I (15 units) and Phase II (12 units). The core school nurse courses, Phase II, are offered online. Distance learners will take their practicum experience with a qualified preceptor in their own geographical area. Some Phase I courses, prerequisites to core school nurse coursework, are offered online through CSU, Fresno. Others may be taken through other universities with approval from the CSU, Fresno School Nurse Services Program Coordinator. All incoming students to the program are required to attend a mandatory orientation on the CSU, Fresno campus prior to entering Phase II, otherwise all coursework is online. It should be noted that CSU, Fresno also offers a Nurse Practitioner Master's Program in conjunction with a School Nurse Services Credential. Please note: To enroll in this program, students are required to be computer literate and have access to the Internet. If you need to take a computer course or purchase a computer, please do so before entering the program.
