Research Activities

  • The Assessment and Treatment of Patients with Balance and Mobility Disorders. Ongoing research in the area of balance and gait in the elderly and stroke patient, as well as the healthy older person. Current Project: "Comparison Between High and Low Functioning Community-Dwelling Older Adults Following an Eight-week Fallproof™ Balance and Mobility Class"
  • New Strategies for Restoration of Gait in the Post-Acute Stroke Patient. Research project developed to: 1) demonstrate improved coordination of gait in the stroke patient during partial body weight treadmill walking as opposed to walking on level ground and 2) determine the optimal treatment protocol to transfer this improved coordination from the treadmill to their level ground walking pattern.
