Summer Program
Cross Cultural Health & Human Services
The Department of Public Health offers a summer program in Ciuda Guzman in the State of Jalisco in Mexico every couple of years. This class which generally takes place from June 1st to June 15th is led by a Fulbright Senior Specialist scholar with ample experience in international health issues. The course is designed to learn about the Health and Human Services systems in Mexico
Program goals:
- learn about the health and human systems in Mexico
- interact with health care professionals in Ciudad Guzmán,
- participate in experiential learning activities with students in the Centro Universitario Sur, and
- participate in community development process with members of Projecto Zapotlán.
The cost of the program is approximately $1,600 and includes transportation as well as lodging.
