Started working as a river guide for Kings River Expeditions in the summer of 1978. Bought the company in 1981 and developed it into one of the largest river outfitters in the western US. Still actively involved with the business and on the river every day in a kayak, photographing or videotaping guests.
Graduated with an MBA from CSU Fresno in December 1989. Began teaching in the Business and RLS departments in January of 1995. Preferred the RLS department and currently teach 3 outdoor recreation classes. Annual goal: to spend at least 200 days a year outside, actively engaged in some form of outdoor recreation. Hobbies include: whitewater kayaking, snowboarding, scuba diving, skydiving, rock climbing, photography and videography.

Currently Teaches: Introduction to Recreation, Parks and Tourism; Serving At-Risk Youth; and Community Placements in Leisure Settings. Also, serves as the Ropes Course Manager.
Interests and hobbies: Playing the piano, gardening, skiing, horseback riding and most any other outdoor activity. Samara lives in Madera with husband Shaun and one daughter.

Currently Teaches: Leisure and Human Behavior, Understanding Special Populations.
Interest and hobbies: Golf, basketball, soccer, and any other team sport. Mr. Hirata lives in Clovis with wife Erica and their daughter Taylor.

Currently Teaches: The Journey of Adulthood: Planning a Meaningful Life, and Understanding Special Population.
Interest and hobbies: Doctoral Student at the Fielding Institute. Intergenerational Aging and Disability Rights. Mr. Dailey enjoys cooking and raising flowers. He lives in Fresno with his wife Carol and guide dog Merlin. They have two grown children.
