Prospective Students

Community ServiceAdmission is highly selective and enrollment in the PT program is limited to 32 students each year with over 500 students who apply. To be eligible for admission, students must have earned a bachelor's degree by the end of Spring prior to starting the program in Fall.  Please carefully review the admission requirements and deadlines.

Late and incomplete applications will be not considered.

Fresno State DPT program only interviews up to 160 applicants, therefore, meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee an applicant an interview.  Students taking prerequisite courses from community colleges and other colleges or universities who meet the foregoing criteria are considered on the same basis as California State University, Fresno students applying for admission to the program.

The Fresno State Department of Physical Therapy offers various four types of advising to meet the needs of prospective students.

However, prior to participating in an advising session, please review the Application Instructions and Timeline, Requirements and Prerequisite Courses and Frequently Asked Questions links on this website.

Pre-physical therapy students at Fresno State are encouraged to attend an advising session in the Physical Therapy Department after they seek advising at the College of Health and Human Services Advising (ACDC) advising office in McLane Hall Room 194.

Office hours during the academic year for the Admissions Coordinator are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and Friday between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.  These hours are subject to change depending on student and department needs.

Email and phone inquiries will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Drop-In Advising is not available at this time.
