A Message from the Department Chair, Dr. Susan Geringer
Welcome to the Department of Marketing and Logistics at Craig School of Business. I invite prospective students interested in B.S. in Business Administration, to give our exciting marketing options serious consideration. Our degree has been continuously accredited since 1959 by the premiere accrediting agency, AACSB - International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The B.S. in Business Administration degree was the third accredited business program in California, following UC Berkeley and UCLA.
In today's global business environment, there is no function more crucial or thrilling than marketing which is a challenging, exciting, fast-paced, and dynamic business function. The rate of new product introduction has never been greater, as companies strive to maintain competitive advantage. Marketers play critical role in identifying new markets, and inventing creative approaches for pricing, promoting, and distributing goods and services to these markets. The key is creativity and a willingness to pursue risks and formulating and implementing effective marketing strategic plan. Marketing offers exceptional career opportunities.
The marketing profession is often a direct route to upper level management. Because marketing's prominence has risen over time, experts predict that marketers will dominate executive positions even more in the future. Starting salaries are relatively high in marketing but vary greatly. The initial salary offered a candidate is largely a function of the position being filled and the attractiveness of the candidate. Some companies recruit students for their ultimate leadership capabilities, while other companies recruit to fill functional positions. Your marketing education provides a framework within which to take advantage of those opportunities.
Our Curriculum: Three Exciting Options
Weprovide our students with a broad intellectual foundation that stimulates rigorous thought, critical inquiry, and career centered knowledge, skills, and perspectives.
