What steps will help make my course of study at Fresno State as successful as possible?
Attending "Dog Days," a New Student Orientation at Fresno State. It includes information on course requirements, tours of campus facilities, a session with a department major representative, and registration information.
Becoming acquainted with criminology major advisor. Consult the faculty major listing to determine your advisor. Meet with your advisor at least once an academic year regarding your progress.

The course Criminology 1—Success in Criminology, is a 1-unit course required of all majors. It will greatly assist you in understanding what's expected and required of a student majoring in criminology.

I heard that there is a Criminology Career Day. What is it, and when is it scheduled?
This event occurs each Spring, typically in March or April. For upcoming dates and more information, contact the Criminology Student Organization.
How do I find out about any Criminal Justice job openings?
Job openings received by the Criminology Department are posted on the board outside the office. Also refer to Dr. Schweizer's website of worldwide criminal justice resources.

how can I order a Criminology DARS Report?
Request a DARS report by logging into PeopleSoft and accessing your Student Portfolio. If you need assistance, contact the Criminology Office.
I need specific information in the (law enforcement, corrections, victimology) option. Who do I contact?
You may see any full-time faculty during their office hours for major advising. See the current faculty office hours.
How can I find out when the internship meetings are scheduled?
Be sure to check the Internship class footnotes in the Schedule of Courses prior to registration. Or, contact the faculty member assigned to your internship. Remember that attendance at an Internship Orientation Meeting PRIOR to the internship semester (but no more than two semesters earlier) is mandatory! During the semester, meeting dates will be posted in the Criminology Department office (Science II, Room 159). There are six required meetings during each semester in which you are enrolled in an internship.
How do I get schedule numbers for restricted classes (Crim 180, 181, 182; Crim 190, 192, 199)?
These numbers are acquired from the Criminology Office. Check the footnotes in the Schedule of Courses for specific instructions. IMPORTANT: Attendance at an internship orientation meeting PRIOR to the semester of enrollment in an internship class is MANDATORY.
Does Criminology have a convocation or commencement celebration?
