The Department of Justice Crime Lab

Opened in the Fall of 2003, this state of the art facility is situated right across the grassy knoll from Science II on the Fresno State campus.

This working Department of Justice Crime Lab handles much of the forensic case load for the Central Valley area. Long before the CSI television programs became popular, the Chemistry Department at Fresno State had trained the majority of criminalists in this area in the disciplines of analytical chemistry. With the Forensic Science programs and forensic faculty now in place at Fresno State, the alliance with this Crime Lab was a natural one.
