The Science Center Concept at Fresno State

The area North of the Science Building on San Ramon Avenue has long been planned as a center for advanced science and community service.
As the image taken from the roof of the Science Building in February of 2004 shows, much of this concept has been realized. The Science II building is shown under construction, and was open for classes in the Fall of 2004. The Downing Planetarium to the left of Science II now (2007) has a Space Museum right behind it. On the East part of this parcel of land is the Department of Justice Crime Laboratory.
Plans for the future include a possible Natural History Museum and business incubators that could further the use of science to solve the problems of the Central Valley and beyond. The grounds of the Science Center will provide a showcase for native plants in an educational setting.
