Solar Eclipse 2017

There will be a partial solar eclipse on Monday, August 21, 2017.  Unfortunately, we have sold all of our eclipse glasses.

However, it is possible to make an awesome eclipse viewer using an ordinary mirror, heavy paper, a stick, and a bucket of sand.  It really does work and is much better than the pinhole projector.  Here are the details:

The eclipse will start at 9:03 am, reach a maximum coverage of 72% at 10:19 am, and finish at 11:42 am.  Since this is a partial eclipse in Fresno, you must use eye protection to view it directly!

We will not be open during the eclipse since we will be traveling to Oregon to view the eclipse in totality.

October 23, 2014 Partial Eclipse

We had over 300 people come out to see the partial solar eclipse with us on October 23rd 2014!   We would especially like to thank the Central Valley Astronomers and Professor Fred Ringwald for bringing their telescopes and their expertise.
