Alumni Success — Lyles College of Engineering Alum Hit The Links!

 Walk or golf… 7th Annual Alumni Chapter Golf Tournament was huge success! Despite a date change to a time of year that can be more stormy than favorable, the weather at Riverside Golf Course on February 28, 2009 was crisp and sunny. A downturn in the economy didn’t seem to diminish the interest and support as over 90 players took the course for an exciting and fun filled day of golfing. After the shot gun start at noon, players enjoyed box lunches on the course and thrilled to the “quacking” of the Turbo Golf Ball Launcher (sponsored by the ME students). The day finished with the popular 19th Hole Reception and awards ceremony. First place went to Rod Davidson, Mark Wilson, Scott Baker and Vince Balbos whose names will be engraved on the perpetual trophy. The Chapter Board joked to be kind to the last place team and not mention their names in the hope that they will return at next year’s tournament to improve their score!!
The LCOE Alumni Chapter would like to thank the loyal players and sponsors who truly overwhelmed and surprised the chapter with a strong showing of support making this year’s event a huge success. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Rick Husband Memorial Alumni Scholarship.
