A Message from the Dean

The Engineering Profession of the 21st century and the Dr. Michael Jenkinsengineers who practice the profession are more critical than ever to advancing and ensuring the health, safety and prosperity of people and society.  Engineers have been the unheralded “people behind the scenes” of technological marvels ranging from extraordinary (e.g., man on the moon) to expected (e.g., safe drinking water and sanitation) to essential (e.g., high speed telecommunications including wireless and internet).

The Lyles College of Engineering at California State University, Fresno is taking the lead in the Central Valley, the state, the nation and the world at educating the Engineers of the 21st century.  These modern-day engineers practice a profession that is grounded in science, mathematics and the laws of nature but driven by innovation and an entrepreneurial-spirit to solve the needs and problems of humanity and the world.

Our successful alumni have used the knowledge and analytical, problem-solving skills acquired at Fresno State to make significant contributions to the world.  As a graduate of our engineering and/or technical management programs you will be able to tailor your career to your individual interests, abilities and aptitudes to follow in the footsteps of these successful alumni.

State-of-the-art facilities; personal attention from faculty who practice the profession; partnerships with industry; hands-on learning; and opportunities to participate in various international, service-learning and competition projects are hallmarks of your educational experience at the Lyles College of Engineering at Fresno State that combined, will provide a solid foundation for the start of a successful and exciting professional career.
