Engineering. He taught several courses in both Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Dr. Owens has relocated to Oregon. We wish him the best.
Other Faculty News
Dr. Daniel Bukofzer, Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering returned from a leave of absence. Dr. Bukofzer was a Visiting
Professor and researcher at the United
States Military Academy at West Point in New York during the 2005-06
academic year. He is currently working on a text book on Probability and
Stochastic Methods.
Dr. Nagy Bengiamin, Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering will be on a sabbatical leave during the Fall 2006 semester.
He will resume regular duties in Spring 2007.
ECE Department Laboratory Upgrades
As a result of a allocation of $210,000 by the Provost’s Office,
the ECE department has begun upgrading several ECE laboratories. All department
lab computers have been upgraded. The Optics, Controls and Instrumentation,
and Microwaves Labs will all receive new teaching and research hardware and
software. Electronics Workbench and Microwaves Office have been acquired
to support teaching, learning and research in Electronics, Microwaves, Electromagnetics
and Antennas. The Electronics lab will also be upgraded with new oscilloscopes,
and spectrum analyzers. The freshmen design lab has been equipped with new
computers, and embedded controllers for robotics. A new milling machine for
PCB and microwave circuit design has also been acquired. Upgrades will take
