Financial Support
It is our intention that no qualified student will be denied the opportunity to attend Fresno State because of limited financial resources. We will make every effort to assist the student to realize his or her educational goals and objectives within the framework of the University's available resources or those of other agencies and organizations which we are able to identify.
There are many different programs available to assist families in meeting the cost of higher education. Most Fresno State students qualify for a combination of funding: merit-based scholarships, need-based grants, educational loans (federal and state), federal Work-Study and school-year employment programs.
Lyles College of Engineering students in some majors have an opportunity to participate in the Valley Industry Partnership, a cooperative education program known as the VIP Program. However, many other cooperative education and intern positions are available for students in all majors. These positions provide students with valuable and unique on-the-job experiences allowing them to "learn while they earn."
