The below deadlines are as they pertain through an Academic Year. This information is pertinent to the English Department and other University application submission deadlines.

1st - ADMISSION APPLICATION cycle for spring 2009 begins
- Spring SOC due to Dean's office
- Fall 2008 part-time contracts
8th - Last day to submit departmental clearance paperwork to the Division of Graduate Studies
18th - Fall Semester Begins
25th - First Day of Fall Semester Instruction
- Auditors and "60+ Years" students may register - APPLICATION period for degrees to be granted in December 2008 begins
1st - Labor Day; Campus Closed
5th - Deadline to turn in Syllabi, Office Hours, & contact info sheet to the English Department.
- Last day to file an application for BACHELOR'S and MASTER'S DEGREES to be granted in December 2008
8th - Last day to add a class without permission/drop a class without permission
22nd - Last day to add a class with permission/drop a class with instructors permission
26th - Last day for graduate students to apply for ADVANCEMENT TO CANDIDACY this semester in order to be eligible for graduation in May 2009.
first week - Announcement for submitting Sabbatical and DIP Leave Requests
mid-month - Submission of Leave Requests to Department Chair
end-month - Leave Requests due to Dean's Office
31st - New TA Applications for Spring semester
- Intent to Return for current English Department TA's
- Intent to Return for current English Department PT's
3rd - Begin administering student ratings for fall 2008 courses
- Spring 2009 Registration Begins
18th - Last day to drop a class with a serious compelling reason
26th - Thanksgiving Recess, No Classes; Offices Open
27th - 28th Thanksgiving Recess, No Classes; Campus Closed
10th - Last day of Fall semester Instruction
11th - 12th - Faculty Consultation Days
15th - 18th - Semester Final Examinations
21st - Contracts for Spring 2009
Dec 22nd - Jan 14th - Winter Break
2nd - Deadline for faculty to enter for fall 2008 grades
15th - First day of the Spring 2009 semester
16th - Last day faculty can make on-line grade changes for Fall 2008
21st - First day of Spring 2009 Instruction
- Announcement regarding Nominations for the University Graduate Medal

mid-month - Dean's Medalist nominees due
31st - New TA Applications for Fall semester
- New PT Applications for Fall semester

- Begin obtaining information for Annual Report
