Strategic Partnership

Agriculture and Priority Pollutants Laboratories (APPL)
A certified, full-service analytical chemistry laboratory, with a staff of over 55 scientists, that has been producing scientifically valid and defensible data for over 25 years. Each laboratory section has redundant instrumentation to allow faster around time some large sample delivery groups. APPL is very experienced in providing compliant electronic data to the polls on over 30 different formats. APPL has maintained quality while maintaining price competitive by staying on the top of the latest in instrument in information technology. One of the most recent technological advancements is the addition of high-resolution mass spectrophotometer for the detection of trace organic compounds, including dioxins, furans, and PCB congeners.

Forensic Training Network (FTN)
Provides an innovative approach to building knowledge by empowering and engaging forensic professionals and students in the implementation of useful methods of sharing experience and knowledge in the field of forensic biotechnology. The FTN and is dedicated to providing collaborative training solutions and creating innovative online resources to connect to the forensic community.

California Bureau of Investigation (CBI)
Provides expert and investigative services to assist local, state, and federal agencies in major criminal investigations throughout California. The CBI performs investigations for the Attorney General's legal divisions; assists District Attorneys and local law enforcement agencies in complex or multi-jurisdictional investigations, and conducts special investigations as directed by the Attorney General in response to the governor, the legislature, or other state agencies. The Unsolved Violent Crime Program provides assistance to local law enforcement in the investigation and resolution of unsolved violent crimes such as homicides, sexual assaults, and kidnappings. Agents assigned to this program are located in the Fresno regional office.
