Public Education
The Forensic Biotechnology Institute helps foster public understanding of science and technology policy and practice, and of forensic biotechnology in particular, and advocates for adequate funding of forensic science education and research. This is done primarily through public lecture series such as the Central Valley Café Scientifique and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, offered through the California State University, Fresno, Division of Continuing and Global Education Extension Program, as well as hands-on service learning programs like the Violent Crimes Case Review Project (VCCRP).
