  • Here's champagne to your real friends
    And real pain to your sham friends!

    [Very old toast...found in a 1791 toast book!]

  • May all your joys be pure joys,
    and all your pain champagne.

  • Here's to champagne, the drink divine,
    That makes us forget our troubles;
    It's made of five dollar's worth of wine
    And twenty dollar's worth of bubbles.

  • Some take their gold
    In minted mold,
    And some in harps hereafter,
    But give me mine in bubble fine,
    And keep the change in laughter.

    lowe, 1910.

  • A Haiku Champagne Toast

    champagne bubbles rise
    like tiny moths to light bulbs
    here's to you my dear
