verbal witticism when you raise your glass or if you have to do something
more formal -- perhaps you are the best man at a wedding -- this site
will give you pointers with many toasts for every
occasion.

Toasting was very much an obsession from 1880 until 1920 (prohibition) and
there are many toasting books,
promotional booklets,
calendars and postcards
from this era.
Some illustrations from these books I have converted into the art
decorations
for this web.
I ultimately intend on producing a book from all of my
research into toasts and this site is where I am putting many of my research
notes & annotations. Please understand that some of the pages will not
look pretty because they have 4 or 5 variants of the same toast. I am
especially interested in acquiring some of the bawdy
& erotic toasts that have been traditionally said but never recorded.
