"A load of crap".....Charlie Cocking

"We were going to hire him for the hall until we heard
this rubbish" .. .A member of the SPPC

"The Cover is nice ...." Lady South Pool

South Pool, a sleepy ancient village in The South Hams of Devon, is situated at
The head of a sea water creek.

The local pub, The Millbrook Inn, is the Hub of the village and this CD is
on sale there to raise money for the rebuilding of the Village Hall, whose floor
collapsed and requires mending.

Many of the tracks reflect the local life, and references to Somerfields and
Tescos and other supermarket stores are made in 'The Boating Song' and in
'How to spread A Rumour'.

'Chilli Con Carne' refers to the Mother of the previous Land Lady, whose
Cottage Pie and Chilli Con Carne were favourite dishes of the holiday makers
Who visit the village by boat.

'The Second Homer' refers to the number of visitors who buy second proper-
ties in the area, where they spend their holidays; some of whom retire down
here.

The other songs are all part of the repertoire of popular songs sung of a
winter's evening in the pub.
