Teaching:
This spring (2006) I will be teaching Geology 1 (Natural Disasters and Earth Resources), Geology 112 (Planet Earth through Time), and Geology 167 (Oceans, Atmosphere, and Climate).

Research Interests:
My interests include the habitat reconstruction of the giant crocodilian Deinosuchus riograndensis from the Upper Cretaceous Aguja Formation of Big Bend National Park, Texas. I enjoy combining sedimentology, stratigraphy, sedimentary petrology, and taphonomy with paleontology to get a complete picture of ancient organisms, their interactions, and their surroundings. While a fossil by itself is inherently “cool,” its value is the knowledge we can gain from it with respect to illuminating the fossil record and enhancing our understanding of ecosystems, as well as its power to inspire future scientists.
