The clean-up went great and the "RiverTree Volunteers" and Geology Club members were able to remove over 250 tires from the San Joaquin River.  Thanks to everyone who participated in this weekends clean-up effort!!!  Check out the newspaper article about the effort and check back for more conservation activities.  On September 24, National Public Lands day, a floating clean up is planned at Lost Lake and ends at Ft. Washington Beach from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Meet in the Lost Lake park, make a left at ticket booth, then first right, and you will see the sign and canoes. Sponsors for the September 24 event include Albertsons, USBR, and Central Unified School District.  There are no more boats left but anyone with a boat is welcome to come and help out.  Contact Matt for more info.

Check out the Fresno Bee article about the clean-up effort.
