COMMITTEES
University Graduate Committee
The University Graduate Committee is a standing committee of the Academic Senate and consists of representatives from each of the academic colleges/schools and the graduate dean. The committee meets regularly every Tuesday throughout the academic year. Minutes are distributed to the departments through the chair and the department administrative assistants and should be reviewed carefully (APM 129-8). The University Graduate Committee members are elected by the faculty.

Graduate Curriculum Subcommittee
The Graduate Curriculum Subcommittee is a Standing Subcommittee of the University Graduate Committee and consists of representatives from each of the academic colleges/schools. This committee reviews proposals for course/curriculum changes, deletions, new course proposals, and catalog copy pertaining to graduate programs. Exceptions are substantive graduate program changes and changes in procedure for fulfilling the graduate writing requirement; these are reviewed by the University Graduate Committee. Graduate Curriculum Subcommittee members are appointed by the University Graduate Committee.

Graduate Petitions Committee
The Graduate Student Petitions Committee is charged with the responsiblity for reviewing and adjudicating graduate and postbaccalaureate petitions. The committee serves as a hearing body for requests to waive campus policies and procedures filed with the dean of the Division of Graduate Studies. The committee is responsible for submitting an annual report of actions taken, the nature and volume of requests receieved and any recommendations for Policy/procedural changes to the University Graduate Committee. Please refer to APM 248-1 for the complete policy and procedures for the committee.
