2005 PHYLLIS WATTS EUDY AWARD FOR THE OUTSTANDING
INTERNATIONAL GRADUATE STUDENT

In memory of Graduate Dean Emerita Phyllis Watts Eudy and her commitment to bringing talented international students to our campus, a fund was established to recognize an outstanding international graduate student. The 2005 Eudy Award winner is Huy Will Nguyen.
Huy is a citizen of Viet Nam who is graduating with a Master of Business Administration degree with a 4.0 GPA. He is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma the honor society for collegiate schools of business and is a member of the All United States Kendo Federation and president of the Fresno State Kendo Club. Huy has been a research assistant and a graduate assistant for the Information System Decisions Sciences department. He has been a co-presenter at the Academy of Management Conference and has co-authored his first publication on the topic of Post War Privacy Issues in the Journal of Applied Management and Entrepreneurship. Faculty members are unanimous in their praise of his work and his promise for the future.
One of Huy's special achievements has been his work with youngsters through his interests in Kendo. He believes that Kendo, a Japanese martial art, provides an excellent environment for encouraging youth to learn about friendship, respect, self confidence and compassion. He plans to use his knowledge to establish an after school program for school children.
