The University utilizes a review/sign-off process (called the Project Information Form or PIF) to ensure that the PI’s/Project Director’s Department and College/School are aware of and approve of the proposal. The PI/Project Director is responsible for obtaining the signatures of the Department Chair and College/School Dean. The College/School Dean is responsible for returning the PIF to ORSP. ORSP is responsible for reviewing all aspects of the proposal and, if it conforms to applicable policies and regulations, of the University and obtaining the remaining administrative approvals.
ORSP logs all proposals into a database from the information provided on the PIF. This information is then shared with all Colleges/Schools at least quarterly.
Above are the different versions of the Project Information Form (PIF) tailored for the types of applications to federal agencies: the National Science Foundation, the Department of Education, National Institutes of Health, the Department of Agriculture, Grants.gov and Private agencies and Foundations. These spreadsheets have been uniquely formatted to align with the categories of those applications and so to smooth the process of submission.
Moreover, the federal standards for grant funding are fast becoming the gold standards of grant funding, so completing these PIFs insures that the submission of your application can go smoothly for nearly any electronic submission system.
If you need help completing these PIF workbooks, please contact your Grant Administrator for assistance.
