Our Mission

What We Do

The mission of the Student Health Advisory Committee is to serve as the student representatives of the California State University, Fresno University Health and Psychological Services (UHPS). SHAC shall serve as a liaison between the student body and the administration of UHPS. SHAC shall bring the issues and concerns from the students to the UHPS staff. SHAC shall also take part in promoting the UHPS through different campus events.

 

Who We Are

The Student Health Advisory Committee is a group of dedicated students, faculty, and staff who act as representatives to the CSU Fresno University Health and Psychological Services. SHAC members meet once per month for one hour to discuss current issues and brainstorm solutions. SHAC members also have the opportunity to volunteer their time with helping other student organizations throughout the year.

 

S.H.A.C. Responsibilities

• To ensure that the University Health and Psychological Services address the health concerns of the student population in an efficient and cost effective manner.


• Work closely with UHPS staff to help resolve the issues of unsatisfied students.


• Recommend new programs/policies or modify existing programs/policies.


• Serve as UHPS representatives.


• Oversee the annual student satisfaction survey and review the results.


• Review UHPS fees and financial concerns.
