This workshop series assists teachers with the rigorous demand of the content standards through a progression of topics designed to monitor student progress toward mastery through careful planning and reflection.

Unpacking: Participate in a systematic approach to unpacking the standards and identifying historical thinking skills.  (2 Hours)

Backwards Design: Based on the backwards mapping curriculum design of Wiggins and McTygue, teachers collaborate to organize their curriculum in the thoughtful and responsible fashion necessary to prepare students for end of the year assessments. (2 Hours)

Tackling the Standards: Infuse your curriculum lessons with classroom strategies that work.  Based on the book, Classroom Instruction that Works, experience and prepare standards-based lessons that utilize successful models of instruction.  (8 Hours)
