The New Staff Orientation Handbook is provided as a tool to welcome and orient your new staff employee into your department.  We feel that a successful new employee orientation program welcomes the new employee, provides necessary tools and information, and familiarizes the individual with the university.  This initial investment of time and effort provides more productive, satisfied employees and reduces staff turnover.  The benefit to the department is the efficient accomplishment of work and a more stable workforce.

A good first day impression for your new employee can have lasting effects on the employee’s perception of the university and his or her enthusiasm for the work.  To make this important day a success for your new employee, the New Staff Orientation Handbook was developed to assist in the orientation process of new or transferring employees to the university.  It is expected that ongoing changes will need to be made to maintain the currency of the handbook.  Please check with the specific departments identified in the handbook or contact Employment and Benefit Services for current information on the Human Resources web site at http://www.csufresno.edu/humres/.
