ICOA Projects
Standards of Research/Peer Review: All work done under ICOA will conform to University standards of research and peer review. Publication of results must necessarily be the responsibility of the faculty and students who collect and analyze data, and decisions about where, how and whether data are published are left to the faculty. Faculty will be asked to acknowledge ICOA’s assistance in obtaining funding in the acknowledgements section of papers and reports. Provisions of the Academic Policy Manual relevant to ICOA research and assessment activities will be followed (see section below on Conformance to Policies and Procedures).
Conformance to Policies and Procedures: ICOA activities will conform to all applicable University policies and procedures, including those in the Academic Policy Manual, the Faculty Handbook, and those implemented by the Office of Environmental Health and Safety. This application to form an ancillary unit was developed in accordance with Section 110 of the Academic Policy Manual (Policy on Ancillary Units). Other key sections of the Academic Policy Manual that will be of principal relevance to ICOA include Sections 501-515 (General Policies Related to Grants and Contracts), Sections 531-545 (Intellectual Property), and Sections 621-640 (Communication).
