Online Advising

Online Advisor

You are going to need a login and password to connect to the Online Advisor system which you may already have obtained by registering for a Fresno State email account. In case you have not, it is to be noted that getting an email account with Fresno State is mandatory since it is a single sign-on account that is used everywhere in Fresno State's online portal, offering various services including Blackboard , email and my.csufresno.

Counseling

International Student Services and Programs (ISSP) offers short-term academic and individual personal counseling. Social and emotional concerns can sometimes interfere with successful academic performance and healthy college functioning in this new environment. Problems of loneliness, feelings of inadequacy, interpersonal relationships and depression are issues we all encounter. If much more extensive long-term counseling is needed, referrals can be made to Health and Psychological Services in the Health Center on campus (559-278-2734).

Peer Advising program

Peer Advisors work with staff from International Student Services and Programs to provide services during the orientation program for newly admitted international students.  This orientation is a three day comprehensive program designed to assist new students with the academic process at CSU, Fresno; introduce them to the campus, city, and surrounding area; familiarize them with U.S. processes and immigration matters; meet other students; and acquire a variety of useful information.

Typical Peer Advisor duties include assisting with orientation resource materials, planning and presenting various aspects of orientation, facilitating the check-in procedure for new students, assisting with registration, providing campus and other information, and planning group activities.

Peer Advisors are committed to assisting new international students with their transition process and enjoy working and interacting with international students on an individual and group basis
