World Wide Web Services
We offer several services for departmental web pages, and for university recognized organizations, ranging from 10mb to 100mb of space. These pages are all maintained on our central web server.  We are also able to offer full featured web hosting for university schools, including your own URL in the form of http://school.csufresno.edu, up to 500 megabytes of storage space, dedicated /cgi-bin directory, server-side includes, your own search engine, and more.

Usenet Newsgroup Services
ITS provides usenet newsgroup access to all CVIP and on-campus users through its NNTP news server. This server receives and subscribes to all major Internet newsgroup feeds as well as the CSUNet usenet feed allowing students, faculty, and staff to more easily communicate with others in the California State University system.

Mailing List Services
ITS offers a ListServ account to the following qualified groups: staff/faculty campus organizations, faculty sponsored class lists, and CSU wide departmental lists. With ListServ, a single message sent to one email address can be sent to all students enrolled in a particular class, to all members of a specific committee, or to any other recognized destination.

Web Caching Services
Providing over 20 gigabytes of caching space, the ITS web caching and proxy service allows the most popular web pages on the Internet to be stored locally, providing even faster access to the Internet. Designed for staff/faculty, students and CVIP members, the web caching server can offer a web-browsing speed increase of up to 20%.

Web Filtering Services
Offering all the benefits of the caching server with over eight gigabytes of caching space, the filter server uses Surfwatch[tm] filtering software to block unsuitable web sites. Available to all staff/faculty, students and CVIP members.

Anonymous FTP Services
The campus anonymous FTP server allows faculty and staff to share files with anyone working on a computer connected to the Internet. This service provides faculty with the additional disk space required to collaborate on large projects with individuals at other sites. Anonymous FTP service also provides faculty with a mechanism for making course material available to their classes. FTP space from 5mb to 250mb can be allocated on demand.

Shell Accounts
We are able to offer UNIX Shell accounts with associated resources to certain full-time faculty, or staff members who require such a service. Various compilers/interpreters are available including C, C++, Java, Perl, Fortran 77, and Fortran 90.

NTP Time Synchronization Services
We offer Network Time Protocol (NTP) time synchronization for all campus workstations and servers. Ensure your machine never loses time again!

All users are requred to abide by the Appropriate Use Guidelines as defined by this document. In addition, faculty, staff, and students of California State University, Fresno are required to adhere to the policies set forth by this document.
