ISSP performers represent global diversity

Music and dance mixed for a diverse flavor at the International Culture Night Oct. 9. Organized by the Office of International Student Services and Programs every fall semester, the event attracted 870 people to the Satellite Student Union this year.

Performances included a sketch from the Malaysia Student Organization; traditional dances from Sri Lanka, Peru, Brazil and Latin America; a fashion show from India, karate from Japan; flamenco dances from Spain; guitar music from Greece; and traditional songs from Indonesia. The Polynesian Club of Fresno gave performances representing Hawaii, Tonga, the Samoan Islands, New Zealand and Tahiti.

There were 18 different countries and regions represented and more than 200 performers. The event was partially funded by the Diversity Awareness Program of the USU.
