Emeritus Professor John Lindberg looks over the wall with Vishu Vishweswaran, chair of Social Work Education.
The success of the Department of Social Work has been attributed
to its cadre of dedicated faculty, which began with the arrival
of professor Tom Brigham in 1953. Undergraduate instruction in
social work began more than half a century ago with just three
courses offered in 1941.
To honor retired faculty, who played such a great role in the department's development, a photo gallery was dedicated at a reception on Thursday, Nov. 5, in the foyer of the Psychology/Human Services Building.
Retired faculty members whose photos are included in the gallery
are Cora M. Adams, Manuel E. Aguirre, Susan F. Bennett, Clifford
V. Bonham, Thomas M. Brigham, Marie A. Emmal, Richard D. Ford
(posthumously), Robert L. Hatmaker, John E. Lindberg, Robert K.
McMain, Nobuo Mori, Patricia R. Pickford, Wallace N. Rich, Barbara
K. Varley, and Catherine Woodcock.
