More than 50 faculty and staff members enjoyed perfect snow and weather at the third annual Snowfest at Sierra Summit Ski Resort on Feb. 27. Building snowmen, racing the slalom course and playing ski bingo were among the contests rewarded with prizes donated by local businesses.

Everyone met at lunch to exchange stories of triumphs over the mountain and to take part in the drawings. Some of those winning prizes were Les Pincu (Criminology), large Sierra Nut House basket from Sanders and Associates; Kay Conner (University Relations), tabletop water fountain by Police Chief Lynn Button; and Phyllis Redfield (Testing Services), Picadilly Inn gift certificate. All of those attending received a gift from Golden 1 Credit Union.

Connie Conlee (Communication) and Craig Jenkins (husband of Diane Jenkins, Benefits) had the best times for the women's and men's slalom. Each received two lift tickets for Bear Valley Ski Resort donated by Mel Cotton's Sporting Goods.

Other donated prizes were from Food Services, Commuter Services, Herb Bauer's, Martin's Silk and Dry Flowers, the Bulldog Shop, Valic, Starbucks, Rosetti's Biscotti House, Gail Freeman's Mary Kay, Country Waffles, and the Sierra Vista Mall.

Nancy Bulinski (Clinic Program, School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology), who participated in Snowfest for the second time, said, "Thanks to Diane Jenkins and her committee for arranging Snowfest. I had a great time. And, it's always nice to win Fresno State wine!"

Chip Hancock (Information Technology Services) said, "The snow was awesome! The food was great! Everyone was warm and friendly! My wife, Jennifer, and I can't wait 'til next year!"
