Grape Day - Members of the wine and grape industry tour the university vineyards and Viticulture Enology Research Center facilities.

In the sweltering August 11 heat, more than 200 grape and wine industry members toured university vineyards to learn about the latest in viticulture research at the 1998 Grape Day hosted by Fresno State.

Experts from Fresno State, the University of California, and other cooperative research organizations presented cutting edge developments in the field of enology and viticulture. Topics of presentations ranged from integrated pest management to vineyard mechanization. Tractor rides around the vineyard gave participants a chance to see project results.

"Grape Day is designed to benefit members of the grape and wine industry," said Cynthia Wood, Grape Day coordinator. "It is important for us to provide pratical information to the people who will be using it in their daily operations."
