


President emeritus Harold H. Haak last week was named The Kenneth L. Maddy Professor and executive director of the Kenneth L. Maddy Institute of Public Affairs at the university.
Haak, who is a trustee professor and professor of political science, opened the Maddy Institute's inaugural roundtable discussion last week.
As the institute's first professor and executive director, Haak will serve a two-year term directing the institute and its curriculum.
The institute will establish internships, educational and training programs, sponsor roundtables, forums and many other events.
For more than a decade, Haak served as university president
at Fresno State and served for one year in an interim capacity
as senior vice chancellor of academic affairs for the CSU following
his retirement in 1991.
