The Craig School of Business Human Resource Management Team placed first and second in the Eighth Annual Human Resource Management Collegiate Competition this February. The win marks the fourth straight year Fresno State teams have placed in the top two positions.
The competition is based on the "Professional in Human Resources" (PHR) exam given by the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Students test their knowledge of management practices, employee selection, labor and employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and development, and safety and health in a "Jeopardy-style" format.
In addition to winning a $1,500 scholarship, the first-place team and student coach Ray Long will proceed to the First Annual "Area VI" Regional Competition in March.
University advisers for the teams were professors Diane Decker,
Mark Keppler and Julie Olson-Buchanan. v tu
