Visitors to campus:
Peach Blossom Festival attracts crowd

The festival focuses on oral interpretation; however, these students also use a lot of body language.

Nearly 8,000 visitors from throughout the Central Valley -- children, parents, teachers and school administrators - invaded the campus recently for the 42nd Annual Peach Blossom Festival of Oral Interpretation. The festivities, hosted by the Department of Communication April 12 and 13, are designed to encourage elementary children to read and enjoy literature. Based upon the belief that literature should be read aloud, the festival provides an opportunity for teachers to incorporate oral interpretation into their curriculum.

LaDonna Hayes, coordinator of the festival, noted that many students who participated in the Peach Blossom Festival in the past are now Fresno State students.
