
Social work education professor Dr. Sudarshan Kapoor was among the 15 winners of the Image Awards presented March 9 by the Fresno branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
Kapoor, a Fresno State professor since 1967, was honored for his civic involvement at the NAACP's 14th annual awards banquet, which featured a keynote address by California Secretary of State Bill Jones, a Fresno State graduate.
Kapoor was commended for the many years he has "sought, fought and
taught about peace and justice through nonviolence" and his role in
establishing the university's Peace Garden.
